I cannot login to an Office Add-in in Safari on Mac


When using Qualitem Office Add-in’s in Safari on Apple Mac, Nothing happens after you login. The task pane continues to display the login button.


Safari on Apple Mac blocks cookies being set by iframes. Office Add-ins on the web utilise iframes to show the task pane in the app. Qualitem Office Add-ins require the use of cookies to provide authentication with our services.


There are three possible solutions.

Solution 1

Disable the ‘Prevent cross-site tracking’ feature in Safari.

  1. Click the Safari App menu and select Preferences.

  1. Click the Privacy tab.
  2. Uncheck the Prevent cross-site tracking checkbox.
  3. Close Preferences.

Solution 2

Use another browser such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Solution 3

Use the Microsoft Office Desktop Apps.
